Explanation of Club’s Activities
TUTORING
For all students that are failing, tutoring is mandatory. For students that are falling behind or having difficulties with a subject, tutoring is available. Every subject has its assigned tutoring day where teachers will be available.
STUDY HALL
Students that simply seek a quiet place to finish homework can go to study hall. If a student is not signed up for a club but is at the school after 4:15, they will be assigned study hall until their ride home is available.
SPORTS
This year Pegasus has added several sports to its after school program. We have already began practice towards volleyball and 7-man football and we be participating in basketball and soccer in the spring. Practice dates are different for each sport.
WEEKLY CLUBS (You can choose clubs from this list)
There are several clubs conducted by teachers that are available once a week on a certain day. In these clubs, students can sign up and participate in a range of activities. Participation in these clubs are mandatory as there are only a limited number of spots in most clubs. The following is a description of each club.

Youth & Government (7-8): Limited to select students, Youth and Government is a Y.M.C.A. sponsored event that introduces students to the legislative branch of government. Students will prepare a new law and present the bill at S.M.U. in front of a mock congress consisting of junior high students. Winners from the district and regional competition will have the opportunity to compete against the other regional winners on the Capitol floor in Austin.
THURSDAY

Art (7-8): Art enthused students from beginners to advanced can come after school to receive more personal attention as well as have the opportunity to compete in several art contests.
Downtown Discovery (4-6): Each Thursday students will walk to different locations downtown to sketch in their sketch book. They will visit different buildings from the old court house to the Grassy Knoll. Because the club is off campus students cannot be picked up until they return at 5:00.
FRIDAY
Swimming (4-5): With the luxury of having a full size competition pool on the first floor of the Y.M.C.A., Pegasus will continue to offer swimming lessons and practice to its students. The fee is one dollar a practice and students can learn the basics of all of the different swimming strokes. However, in order to participate, a Physical Examination must be completed at a doctor’s office and submitted to the school.
Movie (4-8): If not participating in swimming, a movie is available to watch on Fridays. Each week a different movie will be played in the computer room.
