Upper Elementary

At Pegasus, we have reimagined our 3rd–5th grade program to champion creativity and a love of learning. Students will enjoy an enriched curriculum featuring music, art, creative writing, and STEM challenges, along with meaningful opportunities for physical play. Beyond the classroom, students will bring learning to life through exciting downtown field trips and real-world experiences.
Discover, Create & Explore — Our Reimagined 3rd–5th Grade Program!

Our thoughtfully redesigned program for 3rd–5th graders offers an enriching, hands-on experience where every student gets to thrive. In our small, nurturing environment, children enjoy:

🎨 Fine Arts & Creative Expression — Inspiring young imaginations through art, music, and creative projects that let their unique talents shine.

🔬 Exciting STEM Challenges — Hands-on experiments and problem-solving adventures that build critical thinking and a love for discovery.

🚌 Real-World Field Trips — Learning that goes beyond the classroom, connecting students to their community and the world around them.

🏃 Extended Physical Activity — Keeping minds sharp and bodies strong with plenty of time to move, play, and recharge.

🌟 Small-Group Learning — Personalized attention in an intimate setting where every child is known, supported, and celebrated.
Why Does Creativity and Extended Physical Activity Matter?

Creativity allows students to:
  • Become better problem solvers and improve critical thinking skills.
  • Increases engagement and motivation in education.
  • Students learn to see mistakes not as failures but as opportunities for new ideas.

Increased physical activity and play helps students by:
  • Boosting blood flow to the brain, improving focus and cognitive performance.
  • Better behavior and decreased restlessness.
  • Movement reduces anxiety and depression, and boosts self-esteem.
  • Active play fosters teamwork, friendship, and conflict-resolution skills.
While technology undoubtedly plays a significant role in our daily lives, research suggests that students thrive academically through traditional, hands-on learning with paper and pencil; therefore, we will be limiting technology use in the classroom primarily to STAAR test preparation, ensuring our students are both well-prepared for standardized testing and grounded in the proven, foundational methods of learning.
